A Journey Beyond Illusions

Life used to be a stream, full of norms and regulations that seem genuine but which I don't think I've ever really encountered. Unfettered by their subdued anticipation, I would engage in combat with them. However, when I doubted myself, I discovered an inner calm and steadiness, as if a gentle light were emanating from inside and illuminating my path through the mayhem.
Even if it led me astray from the road I was familiar with, I chose to pay attention to that inner voice. This path has never been easy; along the way, I've had others question my motives, categories my decisions, and cast doubt on my own judgement. However, I learnt something new about the ultimate truth—one that I had no idea existed—through every challenge I faced.
In retrospect, I realise that other people experience the same challenges that I did. I wish I could set them on the right road and show them the way, but in the end, they must follow the compass of their own heart. At all times, everyone of us is carving out our own unique path.
I learnt from life that the outside world is frequently a mirror of our inner feelings and ideas. I am becoming more and more clear as I describe. Although I do not see them as conflicts, I do see them as chances to respond and advance in new knowledge when I disagree with the world.
Moments when I let my wrath out and times when I reined it in come to me. Both are unnecessary, in my opinion. The effect is similar to that of kids playing pretend and setting up their own magic show. Realising that my reaction does not have to define anybody else and that none of it defines me is a strong feeling.
That is why I discovered a lovely truth in these illusions: deep down, even when everything around us spins out of control, there is always peace, a knowing quiet that accompanies us and guides us on.
